Federal Golf Club's story is as remarkable as the landscape it calls home.
Founded in 1933, the Club's original fairways once stretched across ground that now lies beneath the shimmering surface of Lake Burley Griffin. When the lake was created as part of Walter Burley Griffin's vision for the capital, Federal didn't disappear; it reinvented itself.
In 1949, the Club reopened at its current location on the western slopes of Red Hill, just two kilometres from the parliamentary triangle. Over the following decades, what was once a relocated course became one of Australia's most respected inland golfing experiences. A course shaped as much by its extraordinary natural setting as by the hands of those who built it.
