Federal Golf Club Women's Golf

Whether you've never held a club or you're chasing your club championship, Federal is your home. Canberra's finest course, a passionate women's community, and a club that takes inclusion seriously.

Supporting Women in Golf

At Federal, women members are equal participants in every corner of the club. On the course, in competition, and in the boardroom.

We're proud that women hold senior governing positions at the Federal, including Vice-President of the Board of Governors and Club Vice-Captain. These aren't symbolic gestures. They reflect a genuine commitment to making Federal a club where every woman belongs, competes, and leads.

Whether you're here for the competitive thrill of golf, the joy of a Tuesday morning round with friends, or your very first swing on a Monday with SWinG.

However You Come to Golf,
We've Got You

Complete Beginner: Never played? Never even considered it?

Federal's SWinG program (Supporting Women in Golf) was made for you. Come along on a Monday morning, bring a friend, and discover why golf might just become your new obsession.

No experience needed. No judgment. Just fresh air, great company, and a qualified PGA coach in your corner.

Our 9-hole membership is the perfect fit. Competitions run on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, so you can build golf into your week without it taking over. Plus, Federal's social calendar keeps things lively year-round.

Federal's women compete in District, State, and Golf Australia events. We field teams in all District Pennant competitions and play regular interclub matches with four GolfNSW clubs. The Federal Women's Amateur Championship is a fixture on the ACT golfing calendar.

SWinG Program

Monday Mornings Just Got a Lot More Fun

Federal's SWinG program is the most welcoming door into golf you'll find anywhere in the ACT.

Here's how it works:

Clinics on Mondays: (at least 2 per month). Clinics run at 8:30 am and 9:30 am, led by qualified PGA coaches. After the clinic, head out to play a few holes, as many or as few as you like.

Play Mondays: (alternate weeks). Gather with the group to play 9 holes or just a few, depending on your experience and confidence. Volunteer members walk alongside newer players to help with rules and etiquette and to offer encouragement.

What SWinG gives you:

  • A welcoming, low-pressure introduction to the game
  • Qualified coaching in a group setting
  • The chance to earn your official Golf Australia handicap
  • Instant community, women who love the game and love a laugh
  • A natural stepping stone into a 9-hole or 18-hole membership
